When evaluating potential business partners

When evaluating potential business partners, the DUNS number is an important factor. Dun & Bradstreet deals with millions of business records each day. This unique identifier helps them organize and protect your business from the wrong credit practices of other companies. In addition, it makes it easier for potential business partners to verify a business’s creditworthiness. In April 2018, Dun & Bradstreet revealed that it will use the DUNS number to evaluate the company’s creditworthiness and ownership integrity.

Business credit works differently from personal credit. In contrast to personal credit, businesses are not entitled to a free business credit report every year. Additionally, lenders are not required to notify a business owner if they’ve turned them down. Therefore, the rating process used by Dun & Bradstreet is highly complex, and can be separated into two main categories. The PAYDEX score measures a business’ payment speed.
